United for a Stronger Lee County
Lee County, AL, is a place of promise - but with a poverty rate of 18.8%, nearly 1 in 5 children are growing up in poverty, and 17.4% of families face severe housing challenges (defined as either living without fully functioning kitchen or plumbing, living in an overcrowded house with 1.5 people per room, or spending more than 50% of household income on housing costs). These poverty rate numbers are higher than both state (15.6%) and national (11.1%) averages, and they call us to action.
Real change begins when a community unites. Circles East Alabama is partnering with local leaders, government agencies, churches, and caring citizens to create a bold, community-wide strategy to end poverty. Together, we can ensure that every family in Lee County has the opportunity to thrive and that our county becomes a place where everyone has a chance to succeed.
Join us—because a stronger, more hopeful Lee County starts with all of us.
